The weather is looking good according to the 10 day forecasts for upper Wisconsin, but you know how the weathermen always leave wiggle room. Looks like temps will be in the 60's for the most part, chilly at night.
Our cars are generally old cars which have been restored and are usually fairly well maintained but pre-trip preparations and improvements are encouraged. I have heard from a couple of our group knowing that most of them have been busy gong over their cars in the last few weeks.
For example, renowned Morgan travelers Bill and Judi Boyles from Texas tell me "We have attached the luggage rack to Sophie and are packing all the bits and tools this week, although we travel with a smaller kit at all times."
And, Bob and Missy McKenna's 1986 Plus 8, got a thorough mechanical inspection complete with fluid changes last week.
And my Morgan Roadster is sporting new king-pins, larger front brake rotors and even a set of hand made (thank you Sally) gaiters for the rebound springs.
So, with tools and parts sorted and packed, cars lubed and cleaned, now to figure out where to put our clothes, coats, snacks, and car cleaning materials. Oh, and we will do one more review of the maps and itinerary over the weekend. Anticipation builds everyday.
Hope to post again Tuesday night from Auburn, In.
